The Casino in Niagara Falls Wants to Make History

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, located in New York on the American side of Niagara Falls, is hosting a record-breaking event for married couples on June 23, 2018. The resort, in conjunction with other community groups, plans to hold the world’s largest vow renewal event. On Goat Island, a popular spot for honeymooners, couples will recommit their love for one another in front of the breathtaking Niagara Falls. After the ceremony, guests are invited to a complimentary meal at the Thunder Falls buffet and a reception at the STIR nightclub in the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. All the proper channels are being followed by the event’s organizers, who include Seneca Niagara as well as Destination Niagara USA, Old Falls Street USA, and Niagara Falls State Park. This includes making sure the event satisfies the standards set by Guinness World Records, the gold standard for such celebrations.

The Standard to Meet

Michigan State University currently holds the Guinness World Record for the largest-ever wedding vow renewal ceremony. There were a total of 1,201 couples (2,402 persons) who came together on the college campus in 2016 to renew their wedding vows. For the ceremony at Seneca Niagara on June 23 to break the record, at least 1,202 couples will need to attend. The event organizers will have a much better chance of breaking the record if they offer a free reception in a glitzy setting and hold the ceremony in front of one of the world’s most famous waterfalls.

Amazing Wedding Preparations

To ensure that as many married couples as possible can attend, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is encouraging them to sign up for the event on the resort’s website. Participants need just provide their names, residences, biographical, and contact information, as well as upload a copy of their marriage certificates, in order to register. On the day of the ceremony, both partners will need to provide their photo identification and the original or certified copy of their wedding certificate. The couples will get free dinner at Thunder Falls Buffet, a certificate of participation from GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM, and commemorative t-shirts. Meanwhile, the event’s organizers will benefit greatly from the coverage they’ll receive, which they’re counting on to help boost business in the Niagara Falls tourism sector.
